MyCompositions: Marriage

Marriage has always been regarded as the sacred sacrimony between two individuals as they take their vows and pledge their everlasting love and eternal commitment to one another. However, as our ever-changing society march into the future, the meaning of what used to be; marriage, took an entirely different meaning altogether.
Divorce cases pile the desks of lawyers and many law firms specializing in domestic law; mostly dealing with divorce cases, popped up all over the world just like a serious case of an adolescent's hormonal breakout of pimples. While many are profiteering at this trade, it caters to the growing demands of the people. So what does this speak of marriage? It seems as though marriage has just became a passing relationship where a divorce comes into handy when either or both parties get bored with the arrangement of marriage.
Though many has long since became jaded to the prospect of marriage, the girlish fantasy of getting married has never left me. This fantasy took the form of being decked out in a silky white wedding gown, with opulent gems taking their places, decorating my ears, neck and delicate wrists.
However, as I reflect on my thoughts, I doubt my motives of getting married. I wonder if it is just another girly hobby of playing dress-up instead. Marriage was never about dressing up or getting married lavishly.
Vain. Humans are vain, and I, am not ashamed to admit it. We do not favour ugly or even simple things. We like to package things so that they would be pleasing to the eyes. That is how marriage got involved in the packaging I suppose. Maybe that is why we are facing so much pollution as well.
Maybe that is why I always see the irony of marriage. What is the point of getting married lavishly just to end up squabbling in the lawyer's office after a few months, or if not, a few years later? The idea of the handsome groom awaiting his bride anxiously, while the blushing bride showcased in a virginal white gown walk down the aisle, to enter the next chapter of her life at the marriage altar just to end up hating and divorcing one another later on, simply fills me with irony.
I would much rather marry in rags, commit into marriage, to enjoy conjugal bliss.

Prelude
Annsley's words.
She tried to fall in love but failed.
She learned everything the hard way.
To be on top, you must sacrifice.
She's alone.
Putting distance between people and herself.
She's losing everyone.
Hell of a complicated girl.
